Angela Marsay

(Leadership of PE/Sports Premium)

Angela graduated university with B.Ed in Sport Sciences and Education and since then has held the role of PE co-ordinator in the 4 schools she has taught in, including at her current school – Boughton Leigh Junior School. She has been employed as an advisory teacher for cluster schools to deliver training and been seconded twice by Harris School Sport Partnership, to be an ‘advisory’ teacher for schools in the Eastern area. In this role she delivered Young Leader training for children, whole school CPD on dance, gymnastics and games.

Claudia Pichon

(English Specialist)

Claudie has a BA in English Literature from UCL, and an MEd in Researching Practice in Education from the University of Cambridge. She is an experienced Literacy lead, and has experience as a Local Authority moderator for Key Stage Two and has previously contributed to writing samples as case studies of good practice for the LA. Claudie has worked to support colleagues within local schools to teach reading and writing effectively, including leading CPD. She is also a SENCO, and has taught in Year Six for six years.

David Hubbard

(Leadership of KS2 & NQT/RQT Specialist)

David has over fifteen years of teaching in Warwickshire Primary schools, predominantly across Key Stage 2. During this time he has coached and mentored teachers at various stages of their career. Whether as students, NQT’s, RQT’s or teachers experiencing difficulty, he has supported teachers and middle/subject leaders with a range of needs, developing personalised development plans which enable them to meet and exceed the professional standards. David currently leads the Hillmorton Primary School partnership with Warwick University, hosting training events for Teachers and Student Mentors.

Deborah Texeira

(Leadership of Curriculum & Early Years)

Deborah graduated with a BA Hons (QTS) in Theology and RS and has over 15 years of primary teaching experience in both the state and independent sectors in London, Birmingham, Nottingham and Kenilworth. Deborah has a passion for ‘Early Years’ and has successfully led two EYFS teams through inspection which were graded “Outstanding”. Deborah is fully committed to finding the right balance to ensure that all children have the best start to their education. She is also part of the Children’s Laureate Steering Group and works closely with the Book Trust. Deborah could offer schools her experience and enthusiasm of teaching in early years and she is currently the Assistant Headteacher for EYFS /KS1 at Paddox Primary School.

Elizabeth Petras

(Leadership of Curriculum & Mathematics)

Elizabeth graduated with BSc [Hons] major in Computer Science and minor in Law before studying for her PGCE. She is currently the Deputy Head Teacher of a Primary School and has been in this role for 8 years.Since joining the school, she has been the Maths coordinator and has gained qualifications as a Maths Specialist and had the privilege of supporting, coaching and mentoring schools in the local area with their maths curriculum. Most recently, Elizabeth has been appointed as the school’s Mathematics Mastery School Lead. She has delivered INSET training to raise the profile and achievement of Maths in the school. She has also moderated and evaluated Maths within the school and consortium. The launch year was very successful and Elizabeth was appointed as the new School Development Lead and now supports other schools within the Warwickshire area.

Hollie Lynch

(English Subject Leader)

Hollie graduated with a BA in Primary Education and has been teaching for 6 years. As an 2/7 English Subject Leader, Hollie has re-energised the school’s English curriculum with a focus on a more text based approach. Since beginning the role, Hollie’s particular focus has been on raising attainment in Reading and embedding SPAG through writing. Through training, she has worked to develop both Teacher and Teaching Assistant knowledge and practice within her own school and across a number of schools in Warwickshire. Hollie’s enthusiasm and expertise means that she can offer support to schools with developing their long term curriculum plans, identifying appropriate coverage and skills progression across year groups, and ensuring accountability for the statutory requirements set out within the National Curriculum.

James Bulloch

(Leadership of KS1 & NQT/RQT Specialist)

James graduated with a BA (Hons) degree in Primary Education from UWIC and has 11 years of primary teaching experience. James has taught across the primary age range but has a particular passion for KS1 and EYFS having spent 6 years teaching in an infant school in Southampton. Whilst teaching in Southampton, James worked within one of the largest MATs which had schools in Portsmouth, Southampton, Poole and Bournemouth. James worked as an SLE for the trust and he supported NQT, RQT and teachers who required additional support. James has supported schools with planning, teaching and learning and the implementation of the new curriculum and maths mastery. James believes that all children should receive the best education possible from teachers who are passionate, motivated and dedicated to making a difference to the lives of young people; his passion drives his desire for high quality training and support for teachers at all stages of their careers.’

Jonathan Gaskell

(Leadership of ICT/Computing)

Jonathan Gaskell has been an ICT/Computing lead for 15 years, including 10 years at Boughton Leigh Junior school. He has led staff, governor and parent sessions in many aspects of Computing/ICT including E-Safety, Coding and general ICT skills. Alongside the computer element of ICT he can also offer support with blogging, green screen technology and even creating a radio club!

Katie McManus

(Leadership of Science)

Katie graduated university with a BSc in Psychology and after working for a global jewellery company, studied for her PGCE at Oxford Brookes. Since taking on Science lead at Hillmorton Primary School, Katie has secured a PSQM award, created and run a network consisting of 6 primary science leads, made links with the Ogden trust and subsequently opened a Phiz Lab and secured funding for resources for both the network she runs and the Phiz Lab. Katie is a very passionate science lead and as demonstration of this, has recently been shortlisted for PSTT Outstanding Science Teacher Award. She has delivered whole staff CPD and has a wealth of ideas to create a real buzz around the subject.

Laura Heathfields

(Assessment and Curriculum Development Specialist)

Laura graduated with a BA in Education with Design and Technology, from Roehampton University and has 10 years of experience in Education. Throughout her time in teaching and management, she has developed a real passion for assessment. She has created her own data analysis system, which has been praised by different professionals. Following the implementation of assessment without levels, she also chose and developed a new assessment system catering to the needs of all stakeholders. Before this, she also developed a new curriculum when the current National Curriculum was released, which the school is still currently using. Laura has delivered maths training for the consortium and has developed staff in KS2 at her own school, through a range of different CPD. She is currently Assistant Head with responsibility for KS2 and Assessment at Paddox Primary School in Rugby.

Martyn Yeo

(Leadership of Curriculum and Maths)

Martyn has been teaching for a number of years in Key Stage One as well as being a member of the Senior Leadership Team at Whitestone Infant School. He is an accredited professional development lead for the National Centre for Excellence in the Teaching of Mathematics (NCETM) and has a deep knowledge and experience of Maths Mastery. He is a lead mentor for Initial Teacher Training alongside Warwick University and regularly mentors student teachers. He is a role model for excellent teaching of mathematics and supports local colleagues in a teacher research group as well as his own staff. He has supported over a hundred schools by planning, resourcing and delivering CPD for local maths leaders through the Gateway Alliance and has also supported local colleagues on a one to own basis. Martyn is a keen advocate for social media. He shares his achievements of his own school as well as regularly hosting a Maths CPD chat for the NCETM. Furthermore he has participated in a podcast for the NCETM sharing his experience of mathematical books in teaching.

Nicola Seneschall-Jones

(English Specialist)

Nicky is an experienced teacher and Senior Leader, having taught in KS2 for over 15 years within Leicester and Rugby. Through her SLT roles, she has supported schools moving from both Special Measures to Good, as well as Requires Improvement to Outstanding. Nicky has previously held positions of Maths Leader and Assistant Head and is currently English Leader and Lead Teacher at Abbots Farm Junior School, where she has led significant change in areas such as Guided Reading provision and developing high-quality Writing outcomes. Nicky has undertaken Power of Reading training and has successfully supported staff at AFJS in incorporating Power of Reading texts and pedagogies into their own teaching, as well as speaking at the Power of Reading conference in London, sharing her own school experiences with other English Subject Leaders. She has led in-school CPD for teachers and teaching assistants across many aspects of the English curriculum in the form of staff training sessions, planning support and modelling best practice in teaching. She has also supported other English Subject Leaders from local schools working on actions to support their School Improvement Plans.

Sam Carter

(PDBW, Learning Behaviour and Vulnerable Pupils Specialist)

Sam is an experienced teacher and Deputy Head Teacher. Over the past 19 years, Sam has taught in Early Years, KS1 and KS2 holding a Senior Leadership Role for 16 Years and the position of Deputy Head Teacher for 5 years. She is a trained Quality Assurance Teacher and has worked as a Local Authority Moderator for KS1. Sam has previously held positions as EAL, Maths and English Leader and is currently leading on; standards in QTLA across KS2; Outcomes for vulnerable pupils; SEMH interventions and is Lead Teacher for the schools Personal Behaviour Development and Welfare priority. Sam has developed her own pedagogy for teaching and learning based around pupils metacognition and self-regulation incorporating attachment friendly approaches, which has been highly praised. Sam has presented at conferences across the county speaking passionately about supporting vulnerable pupils; sharing her own school experiences and challenges. Sam has developed interventions to support pupils attainment and SEMH in school – demonstrating measurable impact through self and external evaluation.

Sam Warrington

(Leadership of Curriculum & Mathematics)

Samantha graduated from university in 1997. Since qualifying as a teacher she has worked in a number of Coventry primary schools and is currently the Deputy Head at Eastlands Primary School in Rugby. At Eastlands, she is subject lead for Mathematics and is a Mathematics Mastery lead for the school. Samantha is an outstanding teacher. She is enthusiastic and passionate about her teaching and the profession, particularly the teaching and learning of mathematics. Her experience is predominately teaching throughout KS2 and in Year 6. She has delivered CPD and INSET to raise the achievement across school, particularly in mathematics, as well as carrying out weekly monitoring activities across school which relates to the school self-evaluation and feeds into the school development plan. Being a core member of the leadership team, Samantha has an extensive experience of tracking data; supporting class teachers in their delivery of maths lessons; providing coaching and mentoring and establishing a positive environment for feedback and future development. This has been supported by her encouraging a positive mathematical setting within school, through proactively seeking resources to support the teaching and learning of mathematics within all year groups

Sarah Barnes

(Leadership of Curriculum & Mathematics)

Sarah graduated with a Primary Education degree with History specialism from University of Northampton and has 11 years teaching experience across the primary age range. Since working for St. Marie’s she has been Maths Subject Lead, and in 2014 gained the Mathematics Specialist Teacher award (MaST). Sarah is an Outstanding classroom practitioner and a role model for pedagogical development. In her 5 years as a Senior Leader at St. Marie’s she has supported colleagues through Coaching and Mentoring as well as delivering numerous INSET and CPD sessions to teaching and support staff. During this time Sarah has taken an active role in wider consortium events including Maths CPD where she provides teachers with resources to use back in school.

Sarah Burgess

(Leadership of KS1/ Power of Reading and Maths Mastery Specialist)

Sarah is an Assistant Head Teacher with responsibility for Literacy, Maths and Key Stage 1. She has lead Literacy for 10 years and has a key role in rolling out Power of Reading to schools across Warwickshire. Sarah has a passion for supporting children with reading and can offer support with running effective interventions programmes, selecting high quality texts for whole class learning and developing stimulating reading environments. Sarah has experience as a Local Authority Moderator for Key Stage 1.
